INT. JANE'S BEDROOM - DAY Jane (14, confident, with short hair) and Sam (also 14, sporty, wearing a hoodie) are sitting on Jane's bed, flipping through a magazine. Aaron Ling (14, shy, carrying a backpack) is sorting his comic book collection in the corner. Suddenly, there's a knock on the door. JANE Come in! The door opens, revealing LUCY (15), Sam's cousin. She walks in, carrying a guitar case. LUCY Hey, Sam! I brought my guitar. Want to jam later? SAM (smiling) Definitely, Lucy. That sounds awesome! Lucy spots Aaron in the corner, engrossed in his comic books. LUCY (pointing) Who's that guy? SAM Oh, that's Aaron, my friend and neighbor. He's really cool. JANE (grabbing a comic book, excitedly) And he's a comic genius! You should see his collection. Lucy's eyes widen, clearly intrigued. She walks over to Aaron. LUCY (cheerful) Hi, Aaron! I'm Lucy, Sam's cousin. Nice to meet you! Aaron looks up, a little startled by her energy. He smiles nervously. AARON (softly) H-hi, Lucy. Nice to meet you too. LUCY (sitting next to him) So, Sam says you're into comics. What's your favorite? AARON (looking down, slightly uncomfortable) Umm, well, I like Spider-Man a lot. And Batman too. Lucy lights up, clearly passionate about the subject. LUCY (excitedly) Oh, me too! I'm a major fan! Have you read the latest issues yet? Aaron glances at Sam and Jane for reassurance before responding. AARON (looking at his friends) N-no, not yet. But I r-read everything online too... JANE (smiling) See, Aaron's a walking encyclopedia of comic book knowledge. Sam nods, putting an arm around Aaron's shoulder. SAM Yep! And he's a great friend too, once you get to know him. Lucy looks at Aaron with newfound admiration. LUCY (sincerely) Well, it's awesome to meet you, Aaron. I think we're going to be friends too! Aaron's face lights up with joy, his nervousness fading away. AARON (thankfully) T-thanks, Lucy. That m-means a lot. The four teenagers continue chatting, bonding over their shared love for comics, oblivious to any differences that may exist. FADE OUT.
