KANOI'S HOUSE - DAY Kenoi's PARENTS, both dressed in business attire, lead him to their car, where his bags are already loaded. PARENT 1 Now remember, Kanshi, your uncle and aunt will take good care of you in Ganamashi. PARENT 2 And be sure to keep up with your studies. We expect great things from you in the future. KENOI I promise. I'll do my best and make both of you proud. Kenoi's parents lean in for a hug, and with that, they take their leave. EXT. BUS STOP - DAY Kenoi takes a deep breath as he watches his parents' car drive away. He looks down at his ticket to Ganamashi and closes his eyes, steeling himself for this new chapter in his life. ***TIME LAPSE*** EXT. GANAMASHI CITY LIMIT - DAY The bus comes to a stop, and Kenoi steps off, taking the scene of the bustling city before him. The cityscape with its skyscrapers and bright lights is a drastic change from his small town. INT. GANAMASHI STREETS - DAY KENOI So this is Ganamashi City... Kenoi walks through the streets, marveling at the energy and the vibrancy of his new home. He follows the directions given by his uncle, making his way towards the family's apartment. INT. APARTMENT BUILDING - DAY Upon reaching the apartment building, Kenoi is greeted by his UNCLE TAKA and AUNT REMI, a warm and welcoming middle-aged couple. UNCLE TAKA There's the nephew we've heard so much about! Welcome to Ganamashi, Kanshi! AUNT REMI We're so excited to have you here. You're going to love this city, I just know it. Kenoi smiles, relieved to have a warm welcome in this new city. KENOI Thanks for letting me stay with you. I'll do my best not to be a bother. UNCLE TAKA Nonsense! Family is always welcome. And you'll be back on your feet in no time, I'm sure of it. Aunt Remi shows Kenoi around the apartment and introduces him to his new room. It's barely furnished, but it's a start. He checks his schedule and breathes a sigh of relief when he finally finds it. INT. CLASSROOM - DAY Kenoi enters the classroom to find it already packed with students. He stands nervously in front of the class for a moment before the HOMEROOM TEACHER, MS. SATO, a stern, middle-aged woman with glasses, acknowledges him. MS. SATO Ah, you must be Kanshi Kenoi, our new transfer student. Please introduce yourself to the class. Kenoi gives a polite bow and tries not to let his nervousness show. KENOI Hello, everyone. My name is <PRESIDIO_ANONYMIZED_PERSON>. I've just moved here from a small town, so this is all new to me. I hope we can all get along. The class murmurs and nods, sizing up their new classmate. MS. SATO Very well, Kenoi. You can take that open seat over there. Kenoi takes his seat, relieved that the introductions are over. As the sun begins to set, they sit on a bench, exhausted from exploring the city. KAZUMI So, Kanshi, what do you think of Ganamashi so far? KENOI It's definitely different from what I'm used to, but I think I can see myself fitting in here, thanks to the warm welcome I've received. Kazumi grins, extending his hand in friendship. KAZUMI Well, as your first friend here in Ganamashi, I promise that I'll always have your back. Together, we'll take on this city and whatever challenges it may throw at us. Kenoi shakes Kazumi's hand, marking the beginning of a strong bond. KENOI Thank you, Kazumi. I'm grateful I've already found a friend in this new city. Kenoi and Kazumi are hanging out during their lunch break, discussing their favorite video games and enjoying the fresh air. Suddenly, they are approached by a small group of students, including NATSUMI HAYASHI, an upbeat girl with long flowing hair, and HIKARU SAKURA, a reserved boy who carries a sketchpad with him. NATSUMI Hey, Kazumi! I heard you took Kenoi on a tour of Ganamashi. Mind if we join you guys? KAZUMI Not at all! This is Hikaru and Natsumi; they're some of my closest friends here. Natsumi is in the drama club, and Hikaru is our resident artist. KENOI (Smiling) Nice to meet you both! As they sit down together, Hikaru flips through his sketchpad and shows Kenoi some of his drawings. GANAMASHI PUBLIC LIBRARY - DAY One afternoon, Kenoi, Kazumi, Natsumi, and Hikaru are studying together at the public library, poring over their textbooks. Hikaru spots a dusty old book tucked away on one of the shelves and curiously pulls it out. HIKARU Hey, guys, check this out. It looks like an old book on local legends. NATSUMI (Intrigued) Ooh, let's have a look! They gather around and begin reading about an ancient legend surrounding a place called the "Shadow World," a realm that exists alongside the real world, hidden from the eyes of most people. It is said that in times of crisis, a group of chosen individuals with the power to traverse both worlds will emerge and restore balance. As they read on, they begin to feel a strange bond with the legend. KAZUMI Do you guys feel that too? Like we're somehow connected to this legend? HIKARU I actually had a dream about a place like the Shadow World recently. It felt so real, but I thought it was just my imagination running wild. NATSUMI Me too! It's too much of a coincidence, don't you think? They all look at Kenoi, who nods in agreement. KENOI I believe there's more to this, and something tells me we're meant to explore it together. The group feels a strong pull to uncover the secrets of the Shadow World and to uncover the extent of the powers that may lie within them. Unbeknownst to anyone else, their lives are about to take a turn, embracing their destiny as the chosen individuals and plunging into both darkness and light. The scene ends with Kenoi taking the dusty old book and placing it into his bag, signifying the beginning of their epic journey into the mysteries of the Shadow World.
