Ruth, a mischievous glint in her eyes, looks at Shona and Becca. RUTH Watch this, guys. I'm going to hypnotize Dan again. Shona and Becca exchange intrigued looks. SHONA (with a smirk) Okay, Ruth. Do your thing. Ruth smirks back and raises her finger, preparing for the snap. RUTH (intense) Keep your eyes on Dan. You won't believe what you're about to see. Ruth SNAPS her finger, and instantly, Dan's eyes become glazed over. BECCA (excited) Whoa! He's totally under hypnosis! RUTH (giggling) You haven't seen anything yet. Ruth steps forward, her barefoot gently grazing the floor. RUTH (CONT'D) Dan, when I snap again, you will become my docile servant. You'll obey all my commands without question. Dan's face relaxes completely as if he's in a trance. RUTH (CONT'D) (whispers) Now, Dan, stand up. Dan mechanically rises to his feet, his eyes fixed on Ruth's every movement. SHONA (astonished) This is amazing! He's like a puppet! Ruth walks around Dan, inspecting him from all angles. RUTH (smiling) You're impressing my friends, Dan. They can't believe how obedient you are. BECCA (teasingly) Give us a twirl, Dan! Smiling mischievously, Dan turns in a slow circle, his movements perfectly controlled. Ruth snaps her fingers again. Dan's eyes regain focus, but he looks completely oblivious. DAN (confused) Hey, guys. What's going on? SHONA (laughing) You missed quite the act, Dan. Ruth had you under her spell again! BECCA (teasingly) You were her hypnotized servant, doing whatever she commanded. Dan's eyes widen in surprise. DAN (disbelieving) Are you serious? I have no recollection of it. RUTH (giggling) Yep, it's true. You were completely under my control and didn't remember a thing. It's our little secret. Dan shakes his head in disbelief, a mix of confusion and amusement on his face. DAN Well, I suppose that's how it goes when Ruth gets into her hypnotizing mode. You never cease to amaze me.
