We just got word that USF upset us in the last game. Coach K's face drops. COACH K: What? How is that possible? ASSISTANT: They played a great game. They were unstoppable on offense and shut down our defense. COACH K: I can't believe this. We're supposed to be one of the best teams in the country. How could we let this happen? ASSISTANT: I know it's disappointing, but we have to learn from this loss and improve for the next game. COACH K: I don't want to just improve, I want to win. This is unacceptable. The assistant looks uncomfortable. ASSISTANT: Actually, Coach, there's something else. The USF coach is on the line. He wants to speak with you. COACH K: (sighing) Put him through. The assistant leaves the room and a moment later, the phone rings. Coach K answers. COACH K: This is Coach K. USF COACH: Hey Coach K, it's me. I just wanted to congratulate you on a great game. Coach K scoffs. COACH K: What are you talking about? We just lost to you. USF COACH: Yeah, but you guys played hard. I was really impressed with your team. COACH K: (save) Alright, thanks for the call. USF COACH: But I have to say, I was a little surprised by your behavior during the game. COACH K: What behavior? USF COACH: Well, you were yelling at the referees and your players. It just seemed like you were out of control. Coach K bristles. COACH K: I'm always passionate about my team. I wasn't out of control. USF COACH: Okay, well, I just wanted to let you know that winning isn't everything. You need to focus on sportsmanship and respect for your opponents.
