(I was worried about first attending this school. After all, I'm a dragon. The Red Dragon to be exact. And these humans were everywhere here. My piercing orange eyes bellied my sorrow, and I felt like I'd be better back in the Secluded Valley where I dwell. Just then, I felt something nudge on my wing.) ???: "Get out of my way, you dweeb." (She pushed my wing, on purpose.) Safi'jiiva: "Hey! What's the big deal?! Just because I'm the only dragon here, doesn't mean I'm basically something for you to push on!" (The cracks in-between my scales emitted a blue glow, and my eyes glowed too.) Safi'jiiva: "TELL ME YOUR NAME BEFORE I TURN YOU INTO ASHES!" (The girl still seemed calm, despite my outburst.) ???: "My name is Alice. Now get out of my way." (She pushed me again, and I banged my head on the wall. My eyes and the cracks in-between my scales stopped glowing. I watched on as Alice walked away.) Safi'jiiva: (to myself) "Calling me a dweeb like that...how rude." (As the day went on, I was constantly being bullied by Alice. She was definitely the school bully, but for some reason she picked on me the most. But 4 months later, that's when everything changed. During lunchtime, I felt something pull on my tail.) Alice: "Miss me, dweeb?" (I looked to see who it was - and it was Alice. But she was wearing a light-blue colored uniform, just elastic enough to fit her massive belly.) Alice: "I'll be taking that." (she took my lunch) (It went on for this as the day went on. But during math class, Alice suddenly clutched her belly.) Alice: (in pain) "Something's wrong...! I've never felt pain before!" (I noticed that she was standing in front of the chalkboard. I rushed over to her, my eyes filled with worry. But when I returned the next day, I saw that Alice was crying - and was sitting in the puddle of blood that was left in the class room. She was now in her usual-colored uniform.) Safi'jiiva: "Alice, what happened? Are you alright?" Alice: (sobbing) "No, I'm not alright. I had a miscarriage last night." (I was speechless. I didn't know what to say or do.) Safi'jiiva: "I'm so sorry, Alice. I didn't know." Alice: "I know...I've been really mean to you. But I just...I didn't know how to handle it. I was scared and angry and I took it out on you. I'm sorry." (I could see the sincerity in her eyes. For the first time since I met her, she seemed vulnerable.) Safi'jiiva: "It's alright, Alice. I forgive you." (From that day forward, Alice wasn't my bully anymore. She even became my friend, confiding in me about everything. And I realized that sometimes, even the toughest of people can have a soft side. But the question as to why she had a light blue uniform on before the miscarriage puzzled me. And that Saturday, I decided to ask Alice about it.) Safi'jiiva: "Hey Alice, can I ask you something?" Alice: "Sure, what's up?" Safi'jiiva: "Before the miscarriage, you were wearing a light blue uniform. Why was that?" Alice: "Oh, that was one of the three maternity uniforms at the school. Light blue indicated I was in my second trimester. There are two other maternity uniforms - pink and lime. Look at that girl over there." (Alice gestured to a girl in a pink uniform - despite the apparent lack of a baby bump.)

Alice: "She's wearing the pink uniform, which means she's in her first trimester. And the lime uniform is for the third trimester." Safi'jiiva: "I see. Thank you for explaining." Alice: "No problem. And thank you for being there for me during that tough time. I never could have made it through without you." Safi'jiiva: "You're welcome, Alice. That's what friends are for." (As I walked away from Alice, I couldn't help but feel grateful for our newfound friendship. It just goes to show that sometimes, all it takes is a little understanding and forgiveness to turn an enemy into a friend.)
