The latest Top 25 poll is out and there are some surprises in there. MADISON Yeah, you may have expected to see Kentucky, Duke, or North Carolina in the top spots, but this year, we've got some new faces. The screen changes to show the Top 25 poll, with the #1 spot occupied by a different team than usual. JASON That's right, Madison. Gonzaga is sitting pretty at #1 right now, followed by Baylor and Iowa. But I want to talk about a team in the middle of the pack that's making waves this year. MADISON The Patriots, from the University of Northern Virginia, have jumped up to the #12 spot after a stunning Final Four run last season. The screen shows footage of the Patriots' players in action, including a dramatic buzzer-beater. JASON Last year, this team came out of nowhere and surprised us all. And this year, they're showing that it wasn't a fluke. They've got some serious talent on their roster. MADISON Absolutely. Guard Marcus Johnson is leading the team with an average of 21 points per game, while forward Emily Davis is a force to be reckoned with on defense and rebounds. JASON And let's not forget about their head coach, Tom Matthews. He's been with the Patriots for 10 years now, and he's really found his stride in the past few seasons. MADISON It's clear that this team is hungry for a championship. They've got the skill, the heart, and the drive to make it happen. JASON But they've also got some tough competitors ahead of them. This weekend, they'll be facing off against the #8 ranked team, UCLA. MADISON That's right, Jason. It'll be a real test for the Patriots. But they've shown us time and time again that they're capable of pulling off the unexpected. JASON We'll be watching closely to see if they can keep up their momentum.
