FADE IN: EXT. HOFSTRA UNIVERSITY - 1992 We see the Hofstra University campus, bustling with activity. It's a typical day at the Division III school. CUT TO: INT. HOFSTRA ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT - 1992 We see the Athletic Director, JEFF, sitting at his desk. JEFF: (to himself) "We've got some great athletes here at Hofstra. If only we could take our program to the next level." As if on cue, the door bursts open and in walks a young, enthusiastic coach named BILL. BILL: "Jeff, I've been doing some research and I think we have what it takes to make the move to Division I." JEFF: (skeptical) "Division I? That's a big jump. Are you sure we're ready for that?" BILL: (confidently) "Absolutely. We have the facilities, the academics, and most importantly, the talent. We just need to make the right moves to get there." CUT TO: EXT. HOFSTRA ATHLETIC FACILITIES - 1993 We see construction crews working on upgrades and new facilities. CUT TO: INT. HOFSTRA ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT - 1995 Jeff and Bill are sitting in Jeff's office, strategizing. BILL: "We've been recruiting some great athletes and our facilities are in top shape. The next step is to apply for Division I status." JEFF: (nervously) "That's a big commitment. It's going to take a lot of resources and support from the university." BILL: (optimistically) "I know we can do it. We've got the support of our alumni and fans. We just need to keep pushing forward." CUT TO: EXT. HOFSTRA ATHLETIC FACILITIES - 1997 Excitement is in the air as we see the Hofstra Pride take the field for their first game as a Division I team. CUT TO: INT. HOFSTRA ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT - 1997 Jeff and Bill are watching the game on TV, beaming with pride. JEFF: "I can't believe how far we've come in just a few years. You were right, Bill. We had what it takes to make this happen." BILL: (grinning) "I never had any doubt. Hofstra Pride, Division I. It has a nice ring to it." FADE OUT.
