FADE IN: INT. MVC HEADQUARTERS - DAY The Mid-Valley Conference (MVC) Committee is holding a meeting to discuss the upcoming basketball tournament. The Committee is composed of five members: the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Public Relations Officer. PRESIDENT: Alright everyone, let's get this meeting started. As we all know, the basketball tournament is coming up and we need to decide which teams will qualify. VICE PRESIDENT: I agree. We have a few teams that are definitely in, but we need to choose the last two. TREASURER: I think Jasmine and Westwood should be the ones we choose. SECRETARY: I don't know. I think Lexington and Oakville have a better record. PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER: I agree with the Secretary. We need to choose the teams with the best record. PRESIDENT: Okay, let's take a vote. Who thinks Jasmine and Westwood should be in? Two members raise their hands. PRESIDENT: And who thinks Lexington and Oakville should be in? The other two members raise their hands. PRESIDENT: Well, this is a deadlock. How do we break this? VICE PRESIDENT: I have an idea. Why don't we have a mini-tournament between those four teams? The top two will move on. TREASURER: I like that idea. SECRETARY: Me too. PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER: It's fair and it will get the best teams in the tournament. PRESIDENT: Alright, it's settled then. We'll have a mini-tournament and the top two teams will move on. Let's get to work and make this happen. FADE OUT.
