INT. HIGH SCHOOL CAFETERIA - DAY Jane and Sam are sitting at a table, surrounded by their friends. Jane is animatedly talking about her favorite comic book. JANE And then, the superhero finally defeats the villain with her amazing powers! It was so epic! SAM (smiling) That sounds really cool, Jane. I'm glad you're so passionate about it. Jane notices Sam's sarcastic smile, her excitement fading slowly. JANE (confused) Wait, what's wrong? SAM (slightly annoyed) Nothing... it's just, I don't get why you're so obsessed with all this superhero stuff. It's not my thing, you know? Jane's face falls, hurt by Sam's words. She glances at their friends, who are also listening. JANE (defensively) I... I didn't mean to offend you, Sam. It's just something I really enjoy. I thought we could share our interests. SAM (softening) I know, and I'm sorry. It's just... sometimes it feels like you prioritize those comic books over spending time with me. It makes me wonder if we have anything in common. Jane looks down at her hands, her voice filled with remorse. JANE I never meant for it to feel that way, Sam. I love spending time with you. I just get carried away sometimes. I'll try to be more mindful of it. SAM (smiling gently) Thank you, Jane. I appreciate it. And don't worry, I know we have plenty in common outside of your superhero world. Jane meets Sam's gaze, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. JANE (gratefully) I'm glad. You mean the world to me, Sam. I don't want to lose you over something so silly. SAM (softly) You won't. We'll work through it, just like we always do. They hold hands across the table, their friends giving them supportive glances. Jane feels lucky to have Sam by her side. FADE OUT.
