INT. DINING ROOM - DAY A distinguished dining room filled with elegant furniture and expensive artwork on the walls. Gretchen and Elliott Schwartz, dressed in elegant clothes, sit at the table, waiting. A KNOCK on the door. Gretchen rises to open it. GRETCHEN Walter, Skyler, come in! Walter, hesitant and embarrassed, and Skyler, appreciative, enter the beautiful house. INT. SCHWARTZ HOUSE - DINING ROOM - LATER Walter, Skyler, Gretchen, and Elliott sit around the table, finishing the last bits of their meal. ELLIOTT That was delicious, Skyler, you really outdid yourself. SKYLER Thank you, Elliott. Gretchen clears her throat. GRETCHEN Walter, we wanted to talk to you about something. We heard about your cancer diagnosis. A tense beat. Walter fidgets uncomfortably in his seat, self-consciously. ELLIOTT We want to help, Walt. GRETCHEN Yes, please let us help you. Walter opens his mouth to decline, but Skyler cuts him off. SKYLER We appreciate it, but Walt is determined to handle this on his own. Gretchen exchanges a look with Elliott. ELLIOTT Walt, I know you're proud, but this is about your life. Your family. We don't want to see you suffer. GRETCHEN Elliott's right. We're family, and we want to help you. Consider it our way of making up for the past. Walter looks around the table, feeling the weight of his pride battling with necessity. Skyler gives him a pleading look. Finally, Walter looks into Elliott's eyes with a deep breath. WALTER (pushes out the words) Alright. I accept. Everyone lets out a breath. Relief and gratitude wash over the room. ELLIOTT Thank you for allowing us to help, Walt. GRETCHEN You won't regret it, Walter. Walter forces a smile, knowing that for his family's sake, this is the best decision even if it hurts him. WALTER (smiling) Thank you. Thank you both. FADE OUT.
