After a month of waiting, their chance to leave the new world and return home finally arrived. However, they were faced with an important decision - they could choose to return home and leave Caius behind, or they could form a contract that would rewrite history, essentially causing both Koichi and Anzu to die young in their original home. Both of them had developed feelings for each other but never admitted them. Therefore, they decided to pretend that they were engaged to each other, so that neither of them would have to marry Caius. Koichi and Anzu's engagement was put to the test when Caius seduced and charmed them on separate occasions. Surprisingly, it worked, which bewildered, frustrated, and confused Koichi. Medina, on the other hand, came across as a motherly figure to Koichi, and she was very understanding and caring towards both him and Anzu. During their stay in the new world, both Koichi and Anzu became more accepting of their surroundings and the people around them. They eventually became engaged to Medina and Caius, respectively. Koichi even apologized to Caius for his previous behavior and attitude towards him. The night before their official engagement, they both learned about each other and why they fell for each other. They even joked about Medina being both a mom and a wife to Koichi and Anzu telling Caius to take good care of the best manager in the world. After their engagement, Anzu and Caius started a new life together, while Koichi and Medina became closer as they started their married life. Koichi continued to miss his mother but found comfort in Medina, who reminded him of his mom at times. Caius and Anzu also had their own share of challenges, as they learned to navigate their differences and work together. Medina: (smiling warmly) That means a lot to me, Koichi. I may not be your mom, but I'm happy that I can be someone who looks out for you. Koichi: (smiling back at her) You're more than that, Medina.
