Jane: (wide-eyed) What?! Ruby: (nodding) Yeah, I know it sounds crazy, but it's true. Jane: (skeptical) Okay...so, you're telling me that you're dating a merman and carrying his baby? Ruby: (nodding again) Yes, that's pretty much it. Jane: (puzzled) But...how did you two even meet? Ruby: (smiling) It's a long story, but basically I was swimming in the ocean one day and he rescued me from a shark. Jane: (in disbelief) And you just started dating from there? Ruby: (shrugging) I guess you could say that. Jane: (trying to process everything) Wow, this is just...crazy. Ruby: (worriedly) I know, and I don't even know how I'm going to take care of a mermaid baby. Jane: (determined) Don't worry, we'll figure it out together.
