But I think it's just a nod to the history and tradition of the US Navy. Those Admirals were all instrumental in shaping the Navy into what it is today, so it makes sense to honor them by naming ships after them." Allen M. Sumner: "Yeah, I suppose you're right. It just struck me as odd at first. I guess it's a nice tribute to those who came before us." Benson: "Exactly. And who knows, maybe one day there will be a ship named after you or me.
