[there would be dialogue in this story:] (I honestly didn't expect the girls that I met after moving to this large town to have such strange appearances - some had features of real-life creatures, while others had features of mythical creatures. However, one of the most unusual-looking was Emily - the waitress at that cafeteria I went to one day, back when she was in her first trimester; yeah, she was pregnant by the time I first met her. She was part sea bunny...and my girlfriend. Considering she had DNA of a sea bunny, she had poisonous spines on her body - which she could retract at will, which is why she's never really poisoned anyone; even though the spines on her baby bump were larger and had more potent poison, as well as the fact they couldn't be retracted. One day, Emily and I were out shopping for maternity clothes at the local clothing store.)

Me: "I can't believe how big your belly has gotten already, Emily. You look amazing." Emily: "Thanks, love. It's definitely growing fast, that's for sure. But at least it means our little sea bunny baby is healthy and strong." Me: "I can't wait to meet our little one. It's going to be so exciting to see what he or she looks like." Emily: "I know, right? I wonder if they'll have more sea bunny features like me, or if they'll take after you more. Either way, I know they'll be perfect." I couldn't believe how perfect and tiny they were, with little spines on their back just like their mother.) Me: "They're perfect, Emily. Look at our little miracle." Emily: "I know, I can't believe they're finally here. Thank you for being by my side through it all, love." (As we held our baby for the first time, I knew that no matter how unusual or strange our family may seem to others, we were meant to be together. And I wouldn't have it any other way.)
