[there would be dialogue in this story:] (When I was still in high school, people would sometimes call me "blind as a bat" - seeing as I was prone to tripping over books almost all the time. But if they called my girlfriend - Emily - "blind as a bat", they'd be right - because she's...well, she's part bat. She relies on her sense of hearing to sense the world around her - as her ears were the same as those on all kinds of bats. Now, before I get into more detail, let me tell you about how I first met Lisa - which was when I was lost in an abandoned mineshaft.)
CHATBOT
Me: (calling out) Hello? Is anyone there? Emily: (appearing suddenly) Are you lost? Me: Uh, yeah. I think I took a wrong turn somewhere. Emily: (chuckles) Typical humans, always getting lost in the dark. Me: (surprised) Wait, how did you know I was human? Emily: (pointing to her ears) My hearing is pretty sharp. And trust me, humans tend to be the only ones dumb enough to wander into a mineshaft. Me: (nervously) Right, well, I appreciate the help. Do you mind showing me the way out? Emily: (nodding) Sure, just follow me. And watch your step, this place can be pretty tricky. As Emily led me out of the mineshaft, I couldn't help but be fascinated by her unique features. And as we reached the surface, I couldn't shake off the feeling that maybe getting lost in that mineshaft was the best thing that could have happened to me.
