Fade in: INT. INLET SQUARE MALL - DAY We see people walking around the mall, but it seems old and run down. One store has closed down, and there aren't many people around. CUT TO: INT. MALL MANAGEMENT OFFICE - DAY We see the mall management team, including Tom and Sarah, discussing a renovation plan. Tom: "The mall needs a facelift. We need to renovate the whole place, and attract new tenants." Sarah: "But we can't afford to shut down the mall for too long. Sales are already low." Tom: "I know, but if we don't renovate soon, the mall will be dead." CUT TO: INT. MALL HALLWAY - DAY A mall employee is putting up a notice on a store that says, "We are closed for renovations. We apologize for the inconvenience." CUT TO: INT. ANOTHER STORE - DAY The store owner is looking around worriedly as he sees customers walking away after seeing the closed notice. Store owner: "This is bad. I need sales, but with the whole mall being renovated, no one would want to come here." CUT TO: INT. MALL MANAGEMENT OFFICE - DAY Tom is on a conference call with the mall owner. Tom: "We need to speed up the renovation process. The mall is in a sorry state, and we need to make it attractive again." Mall owner: "I understand your concern for the mall, but do you realize the timing of this renovation?" Tom: "What do you mean?" Mall owner: "It's peak season, Tom. The holiday season. The mall sees the highest footfall during this time. How can you shut it down for renovation?" Tom: "I know, but we have to do something to save the mall from becoming obsolete." Mall owner: "The timing is wrong, Tom. I suggest you hold on to the renovation plans until the holiday season is over." CUT TO: INT. MALL HALLWAY - DAY We see only a few customers walking around. The store owners look around worriedly as they see no business. CUT TO: INT. MALL MANAGEMENT OFFICE - DAY Tom and Sarah are talking to the store owners, trying to appease them. Sarah: "We understand your concern, but we had to renovate. It's for the betterment of the mall." Store owner 1: "When will the renovation be over? We need sales to survive." Tom: "We are working on it, but it will take some time. We suggest you come up with some holiday discounts and promotions to attract customers." Store owner 2: "But there are no customers, Tom. How can we do that?" Tom: "We have placed ads and billboards all around town. We are doing everything we can to attract new customers." CUT TO: INT. MALL HALLWAY - DAY We see only a few customers walking around. It's a sad sight. CUT TO: INT. MALL MANAGEMENT OFFICE - DAY Tom: "Maybe the mall owner was right. The timing of the renovation was wrong." Sarah: "But we had to do something, Tom. The mall was in a sorry state." Tom: "I know, but we should have waited until the holiday season was over. Now we are suffering from a lack of sales." Sarah: "We can't do anything about it now. We can only hope that we can attract customers with the holiday discounts and promotions." Tom: "Yes. We can only hope." FADE OUT.
