(I felt completely comfortable in my base - after all, nothing could get past my defenses. 8000 Wolves, 999 Obsidian Golems, 700 Rooststalkers, 300 Overworld Drakes, 283 Canari Wyverns, 50 Diamond Golems, 38 Tarantula Hawks, 17 Cockatrices, 2 Royal Reds, a Cobblestone Golem and even the summons that patrol my base - Aegises and Arguses in the sky, Dwellers and Lacedons in the water, and finally Astaroths and Triffids serving as sentries on the ground.) [player]: "With these defenses, I'm basically unstoppable!" (Just then, I heard screaming coming from the basement.) [player]: "The hell?" (I looked to see who it was - and it was a strange girl. Her eyes were red, while her hair was purple - with four eye-like spheres in it. Her sweater and skirt resembled the Cave Spider mob.) Female Cave Spider: (in pain) "AAAAAAAGH! Come on, little one! It's been 30 months and I'm still waiting for you!" (thinking to herself) "Okay, Vanessa...just do strong for the baby. Gog, this hurts so much...!" [player]: "Uh...hi there? Are you okay?" Vanessa: (startled by my presence) "Who are you? What are you doing here?!" [player]: "I live here. This is my base. And...are you giving birth down here?!" Vanessa: (nodding) "Yes...I've been waiting for months for this baby to arrive and I couldn't find anywhere else to go." [player]: "But...who's the father?" Vanessa: "...there IS no father." [player]: "Wait, what do you mean there's no father?" Vanessa: "It started back when I was undergoing the same parthenogenesis process at the same time with my older, regular Spider sister - Mindy. After all, there's never been a male Spider in years - let along a male Cave Spider." {VANESSA'S FLASHBACK}

(Vanessa was crawling through a dark cave, looking for food. As she turned a corner, she saw her sister, Mindy, also a Cave Spider, eating some insects.) Vanessa: "Hey, Mindy. What's going on?" Mindy: "Oh, hey, Vanessa. I'm just having a snack. Want some?" Vanessa: "Sure, thanks." (Suddenly, there was a loud noise, and the cave started shaking. Vanessa and Mindy looked at each other, terrified.) Mindy: "What was that?" Vanessa: "I don't know, but we should get out of here." (As they were about to leave, they heard a strange noise coming from the ceiling. They looked up and saw a small, glowing orb.) Mindy: "What's that?" Vanessa: "I don't know, but it doesn't look good." (Suddenly, the orb exploded, and a strange energy filled the room. Vanessa and Mindy felt a strange sensation wash over them.) Mindy: "What's happening to us?" Vanessa: "I don't know, but it feels...strange." (As the energy faded away, Vanessa and Mindy looked at each other, shocked.) Mindy: "What happened? Do you feel strange too?" Vanessa: "Yeah, it's like something changed inside of me." Mindy: "We should get out of here and tell the others." Vanessa: "Yeah, you're right." (They left the cave, not knowing that something incredible had just happened to them.) {END OF FLASHBACK} [player]: "Wow, that's crazy." Vanessa: "Yeah, it is. But since then, I've been carrying this baby - a daughter - and I've been waiting for it to be born. I'm afraid if someone finds out, they might take her away from me or even hurt her." [player]: "Don't worry, Vanessa. I won't let anyone hurt you or your baby. In fact, I'll help you raise her. But we need to get you some medical attention." Vanessa: "Thank you, I appreciate it. Let's go." (Together, we headed upstairs and outside, where I had a makeshift hospital set up. A few minutes later, Vanessa gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. I named her Ariadne, after the Greek mythological figure who helped Theseus escape the Labyrinth. From that day on, I had a new responsibility - to protect and care for Vanessa and her daughter, and to make sure they were safe and happy in my base.)
