INT. HAWKINS MIDDLE SCHOOL - DAY Eleven, a confident and charming fashion enthusiast, walks the hallways of Hawkins Middle School on her first day. Her arrival doesn't go unnoticed, as heads turn and students whisper. MIKE, a kind-hearted aspiring mechanic, and his friends WILL (an aspiring punk guitarist), DUSTIN (an aspiring scientist), and LUCAS (a star basketball player) are hanging out in the corridor. Lucas' girlfriend, MAX, the school's rich mean girl, is nearby with her clique, including the other mean girl, NANCY (Jonathan's girlfriend). Unexpectedly, both Nancy and Max seem intrigued by the new girl walking down the hallway. Eleven's eyes meet with Mike's, and Mike instantly falls for her. Lucas nudges Mike with his elbow. LUCAS Man, you've got it bad, huh? MIKE What do you mean? WILL It's obvious, Mikey. You're crushing on the new girl. MIKE (blushing) No, I'm... I mean, she's... Meanwhile, we see JONATHAN, the typical jock, about to bully his favorite victim, STEVE, a shy nerd who is with ROBIN, his equally-nerdy girlfriend. NANCY Oh, Jonathan... There's a new girl at school. Try not to mess this one up, okay. Max rolls her eyes, not too pleased with Jonathan talking to Eleven. Eleven confidently approaches Mike, Will, Dustin, and Lucas. ELEVEN Hey guys, I'm Eleven. Just moved here. Mind if I hang out with you? MIKE (a little nervous) Uhm... Yeah, sure! The friends introduce themselves and chat with Eleven for a while. Later, Will pulls Eleven aside. WILL So, you're interested in music and fashion? My brother, Jonathan, is into photography. Eleven tries to stifle a laugh. ELEVEN That sounds fun, but honestly... Jonathan kind of seems like a jerk. Honestly, I'm way more excited about getting to know you guys. Will grins. WILL Well, I think you'll fit right in. Soon enough, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, and Eleven go to Mike's house to watch a movie. As they all sit down together, we see Nancy secretly snap a photo to share with her friends, while Max sends Eleven an approving smile.

INT. MIKE'S LIVING ROOM - DAY The group is gathered in Mike's living room, with plenty of snacks and soda. Eleven and Mike sit side by side on the couch. Dustin puts on a classic sci-fi movie. DUSTIN Get ready, guys. This movie will inspire the next scientific revolution! WILL Or just another weird experiment, like the time you tried to breed glowing mice in your basement. DUSTIN (defensive) Hey, it was worth a try! Everyone laughs, and they start to watch the movie. Lucas receives a text from Max, who is currently hanging out with Nancy by her locker. He reads it out loud. LUCAS "Eleven is cool, but watch out for my brother Jonathan. He's up to something." Mike looks concerned, but Eleven seems unfazed. ELEVEN I can handle Jonathan. Don't worry. As the movie plays, Steve and Robin walk by Mike's house, still shaken from their earlier encounter with Jonathan. ROBIN I feel so bad for Mike's sister, Nancy. Dating Jonathan must be tough. STEVE Yeah, but she has her own ways to survive. I really hope the new girl doesn't get involved in all that drama. Back in Mike's living room, the movie has ended, and the group is discussing their future dreams and aspirations. MIKE So we've got a punk guitarist, a scientist, a mechanic, and a basketball star. How about you, Eleven? ELEVEN Hmm, I love fashion, and I want to create clothes that spark joy and let people express themselves. I'd love to be a fashion designer. LUCAS That's awesome! MIKE (smiling) Yeah, it really is. Nancy opens the front door, surprised to see Eleven with the group. She greets them with a forced smile. NANCY Well, I see you've met my brother and his friends, Eleven. ELEVEN Yeah, they're pretty great.
