INT. JANE'S BEDROOM - DAY Jane's room is decorated with posters of bands like Nirvana and The Beatles. Jane (14) sits on her bed, engrossed in a book. Sam (14), Jane's girlfriend, sits beside her, flipping through a music magazine. Aaron Ling (14), Jane's friend and neighbour, enters the room. JANE Hey, Aaron! What's up? AARON Not much. Just thought I'd drop by and see what you guys are up to. SAM We're just hanging out, listening to some music and stuff. Jane notices Aaron eyeing the posters on her walls. JANE You're looking at Kurt Cobain again, aren't you? Aaron blushes, caught off guard. AARON Uh, well, yeah. I mean, he's a legend, right? JANE (rolls her eyes) Seriously, Aaron? You're still obsessing over Kurt Cobain? SAM (smiling) Hey, don't tease him. Everyone has their idols, right? JANE Sure, but it's been, what, like twenty years since Cobain died? There are so many amazing artists out there now! AARON (defensively) I know there are other great musicians, Jane. But Cobain's legacy, his music, it still speaks to me. I can't help it. Jane softens, realizing she may have been too harsh. JANE (sincerely) Sorry, Aaron. I didn't mean to belittle your admiration. I just think it's important to explore newer artists too. You never know who might resonate with you. Aaron nods, appreciative of Jane's understanding. AARON You're right, Jane. I should give other musicians a chance. But for now, Cobain still holds a special place in my heart. SAM (smiling) As long as you keep exploring, it's all good. We should all share our favorite artists sometime. JANE (agrees) Definitely. We can have our own little music club. The three friends laugh, enjoying the prospect of discovering new music together. FADE OUT.
