CHATBOT
Natsuki rubs her eyes, still groggy from sleep as she scans the room, looking for the source of the noise. "N-no, I don't hear anything," she replies, her voice filled with confusion. "Are you sure you heard crying?" I furrow my brows, listening intently for any signs of a baby's cries. But there's nothing. No sound except for the gentle rustling of the wind outside. I shake my head, slightly puzzled. "I could have sworn I heard crying. It sounded like it was coming from this room." Natsuki sits up, her gaze fixed on me. "You're probably just imagining things. There's no way there could be a baby crying in my room." She glances around the tidy, pink-themed bedroom, as if reassuring herself that everything is in order. The stuffed animals lined up on the shelf, the neatly organized manga collection, all undisturbed. I give her a skeptical look, still perplexed by what I thought I had heard. "But it was so clear, Natsuki. I could have sworn..." Natsuki cuts me off, her voice firm. "Enough already. It's probably just some noise from outside. Just forget about it." I can tell she doesn't want to dwell on the topic any further, perhaps wanting to avoid any reminders of Sayori's situation. I decide not to press the matter, realizing that it's best to respect her wishes. "Alright, if you say so," I reply, a tinge of uncertainty still lingering in my voice. We both stand there in silence for a moment, the air heavy with unspoken thoughts. I can tell that Natsuki is trying to put on a brave face, pretending that everything is normal despite the turmoil within her. I reach out and gently place a hand on her shoulder, offering a small reassuring squeeze. "If you ever need to talk or if there's anything I can do to help, just know that I'm here for you, Natsuki." She looks at me, her expression softening ever so slightly, before nodding. "Thanks... I appreciate it." With that, we both leave the room, leaving behind the mystery of the nonexistent cries. As we step back into the world outside, I can't help but wonder if there's more to Natsuki's reaction, if there's more to her pain than meets the eye.
