INT. ABANDONED BUILDING - NIGHT Nancy, Jonathan, and the rest of the gang - MIKE, ELEVEN, DUSTIN, LUCAS, WILL, and MAX - are investigating mysterious happenings in an abandoned building. Nancy slowly wanders away from the group. MIKE Nancy? Where are you going? Nancy ignores Mike's question, walking further away from them. Jonathan calls out to her, but he gets no response. INT. ABANDONED BUILDING - DARK ROOM Nancy enters a dark room, filled with creepy and mysterious items. She comes across the source of the strange happenings - a small, twisted creature that houses the full power of the Mind Flayer. NANCY What is this thing? As she attempts to touch the creature, tendrils of black mist shoot out from it, ensnaring her, infecting her. Nancy's eyes become vacant as her personality twists into something dark and sinister. JONATHAN enters the room, worried for Nancy. He reaches her side just as the creature lurches up to possess her. JONATHAN Nancy, get away from that thing! It's too late. The creature swoops in, grasping his arm, infecting him. Jonathan's demeanor changes, becoming fiercer and agitated. He becomes a guard dog for Nancy, ready to act out on any perceived threat. INT. ABANDONED BUILDING - MAIN ROOM The gang begins to notice their absence and starts looking for Nancy and Jonathan. MIKE We have to find them before it's too late. Suddenly, Nancy and Jonathan emerge from the shadows, clearly changed. Nancy's eyes are sultry and calculating, while Jonathan seems troubled and enraged. NANCY (smirking) Worried about us, were you? She provocatively touches Mike by the cheek, only to flick at it, as a cruel taunt. Jonathan steps forward, furious. JONATHAN (growling) You should be more concerned about your own well-being right now. With newfound strength, Nancy and Jonathan pin the gang against the wall with ease. Remnants of their former selves show through their possessed state, but it's not enough to hold back their newfound power. NANCY Haven't you always wondered what would happen if you came face-to-face with the darkness? LUCAS Nancy! Jonathan! Fight it! Nancy lets out a wicked laugh, while Jonathan's eyes narrow. NANCY You can't possibly defeat us. The Mind Flayer has made us unstoppable. Her eyes briefly return back to normal, which suggests she's still in there somewhere. The gang must find a way to weaken the Mind Flayer's control over their friends. ELEVEN looks into Nancy's eyes, trying to connect with her. ELEVEN I know you're in there, Nancy. You need to fight it. Seeing her sister in distress, Nancy starts to waver. She and Jonathan may be possessed, but there's an opportunity in their vulnerability. The gang must find a way to free their friends from the Mind Flayer's hold...
