They had fortified their walls, and they had a skilled army led by Hector. Achilles: [grimacing] And they had their archers, too. I took an arrow to the heel that almost killed me. Agamemnon: [nodding] And we lost so many soldiers in the fighting. It was a disaster. Ajax: [muttering] And all because of that damn Helen. If it weren't for her, we wouldn't be in this mess. Odysseus: [shaking his head] It's not her fault. It's Agamemnon's fault for starting this war in the first place. Agamemnon: [defensively] I did what I had to do to protect my brother's honor. Achilles: [rolling his eyes] Honor? More like pride. You just wanted to be the most powerful king in Greece. Agamemnon: [bristling] Watch your tongue, Achilles. Ajax: [sighing] We should have known better than to get involved in this mess. We should have stayed home and protected our own cities. Odysseus: [nodding] It's hard to see that now. But we can still recover from this defeat. Achilles: [nodding] That's right. We'll regroup and come back stronger. Agamemnon: [determinedly] We'll show those Trojans what happens when they cross Greece. Ajax: [smirking] Yeah, we'll show them not to mess with us.
