[there would be dialogue in this story:] (Now that the mana of the world had been balanced, the 8 elementals - Wisp, Dryad, Jinn, Salamander, Shade, Luna, Gnome, and Undine - had been living their lives as humans would. 7 of the elementals are out on their own missions, leaving Shade - the Elemental of Darkness - back at the cave they live. Shade is currently babysitting baby Lumina, as Lumina's mother - Wisp - is currently unable to care for her during the mission - even though Wisp gave birth to baby Lumina recently. But the minute before Wisp is due to return from her mission, Lumina starts crying - she was hungry, and wanted milk. But after Shade fails to find a bottle, Wisp returns from her mission.)

Shade: (frantically searching through the cupboards) Where is that bottle? I can't find it anywhere! Lumina is hungry and won't stop crying! Lumina: (crying louder) Wahhh! Shade: (panicking) Oh no, what do I do? Wisp said she would be back any minute! (Wisp enters the cave, sensing the chaos.) Wisp: What's going on here? Why is Lumina crying? Shade: (rushing towards Wisp) Wisp, thank goodness you're back! I couldn't find the bottle anywhere, and Lumina is starving! Wisp: (calmly) It's alright, Shade. I can handle it. Hand her to me. (Shade carefully hands Lumina over to Wisp, who cradles her lovingly.) Lumina: (sniffling, still crying softly) Wisp: (whispering soothingly) Shh, Lumina. Mama's here now. Let's get you fed, my little one. (Wisp sits down, finding a comfortable spot to breastfeed Lumina.) Shade: (watching in awe) You make it look so easy, Wisp. Wisp: (smiling) It takes time, Shade. But we're all here to support each other, especially when it comes to taking care of Lumina. (Lumina's cries gradually subside as she starts nursing.) Shade: (feeling relieved) I'm glad you're back, Wisp. I was starting to worry that I couldn't handle taking care of Lumina on my own. Wisp: (stroking Lumina's hair) You did just fine, Shade. It's not easy being a babysitter, let alone for an elemental like Lumina. I appreciate you stepping in while I was away. Shade: (grateful) Well, you're the best mother she could have asked for, Wisp. I'm glad I could help, even if it was just for a little while. Wisp: (softly) And I'm grateful for your support, Shade. We may be elementals, but we're also a family. We need to rely on each other. (As Lumina finishes nursing and drifts off to sleep, the cave fills with a sense of peace and contentment.) Shade: (whispering) Look how peaceful she is now. I'm glad we could provide that for her. Wisp: (smiling) Together, we can provide everything Lumina needs. We are the protectors of this world, after all. And that includes taking care of our own. (Shade and Wisp exchange a silent understanding, knowing that their duty extends not only to the balance of mana but also to the nurturing of their elemental family.) [End of dialogue]
