He's in a deeply relaxed state, and when he comes out of it, he won't remember any of this conversation." Victoria's eyes widened. "You've hypnotized him?" she whispered in disbelief, her previous skepticism about hypnotism now crumbling. "Can you make him do anything you want?" Stella nodded, her grin widening. "Yes, but I always make sure it's harmless and amusing. Watch this." She snapped her fingers in front of David's face, and he instantly straightened up. "David, I want you to believe you're a chicken, pecking at seeds on the cafe floor." Much to Victoria's astonishment, David immediately began mimicking the movements of a chicken, bobbing his head up and down as he pecked at the imaginary seeds on the floor. He squawked and clucked, flapping his "wings" and looking every bit as if he truly believed he was a chicken. Stella leans in and whispers the phrase in Victoria's ear. "David, go buy Victoria whatever drink she wants." David immediately gets up and heads to the counter, where Victoria orders a lemonade. Stella laughs, "This is too good." Victoria feels uneasy about the whole situation, but decides to play along for a bit. She whispers the phrase to Stella and commands David to do a silly dance. Without hesitation, David begins to dance wildly, making strange movements with his arms and legs and pulling silly faces. Victoria can't help but giggle at the display. After a few moments, Stella snaps her fingers again. "David, stop," she commands. David freezes in place once again. "When I snap my fingers this time, you will wake up with no memory of what just happened. You will feel happy and relaxed, and you will continue with your day as normal. But you will not remember any of this. Do you understand?" David nods again, utterly obedient to Stella's words. "Good boy," Stella says one final time, snapping her fingers. David blinks a few times and looks around, as if unsure how he got there. "Oh, hey guys," he says, as if nothing had happened. Victoria looks at Stella in amazement. "How did you do that?" Stella just grins. "Magic," she says with a wink.
