At the far end is a cozy, makeshift setup with a comfortable chair and a small coffee table with a water jug and glasses, where MIKE, mid-50s, a man with a kindly demeanor and a twinkle in his eye, has set up for his hypnosis sessions. HELEN (40s), the office manager with a practical yet warm look about her, approaches DAN (26), a younger worker with an easy-going attitude, typing away at his desk. HELEN Dan, you're still up for the hypnosis session, right? Mike's ready for you. DAN (smiling) Yeah, sure. Could use a little stress relief. DAN gets up and follows HELEN to the area where MIKE is waiting. He greets them with a friendly nod. INT. HYPNOSIS AREA - CONTINUOUS They sit down, MIKE in a chair opposite DAN, who looks slightly nervous but curious. HELEN stands aside, observing with interest. MIKE (softly) Dan, just relax and listen to the sound of my voice. Look at this pendulum... MIKE gently swings a small pendulum back and forth in front of Dan's eyes. DAN's eyelids start to flutter as he watches it. MIKE (CONT'D) With every swing, you feel more and more relaxed, more and more at ease... DAN's muscles visibly relax, and soon his eyes close, his breathing deepens. He is clearly under MIKE's spell. MIKE (CONT'D) You're doing great, Dan. Now, whenever I say the word 'focus', you will instantly return to this deeply relaxed, obedient state. Do you understand? DAN (softly) Yes... HELEN looks on, impressed by the transformation. HELEN (whispering) Can you make it so I can do that? MIKE glances at HELEN with a small nod and turns back to DAN. MIKE Dan, from now on, when Helen asks you to focus and snaps her fingers, you will feel this same deep sense of relaxation and obedience. Remember, this will only happen when Helen uses the trigger. Do you understand? DAN Yes... HELEN nods in approval, a glint of intrigue in her eyes. MIKE When you wake up on my count of three, you will feel refreshed and won't consciously remember these suggestions, but they will work perfectly when triggered. One... two... three. DAN blinks, waking up as if from a restful sleep. He looks around, slightly disoriented but smiling. DAN Wow, I feel great! HELEN and MIKE exchange a look of understanding.
