In reality she is a member of secret cabal known as Wheel Group, whose aim is power, over the population and ensuring flow of resources to the upper classes by facilitating wars, revolutions and other disasters, while always staying de facto at the top of society. An extraordinary is about to happen - a personal meeting with her "enforcers" and "cleaners" - brutish, yet cunning commissioner Basil Bends and sophisticated yet sadistic Percival Gleswick. For some time, they were supposed to discredit or get rid in any way of this pesky independent journalist Marcel Messier, yet time and again they have failed. As they meet in her car, driving fast through the streets, Bends and Gleswick have the gall to propose that Marcel Messier has some kind of psychic ability. CHATBOT: Chapter 1: Of Minds and Men As the opalescent moonlight filtered through the haze of the Parisian skyline, I, Clementine Labelle, steered my sleek black automobile through the labyrinthine streets that stretched on like veins beneath the city's grand facade. Bends, a brutish specimen with a warped half-smirk reminiscent of Marlon Brando, roguishly handsome in his scarred skin, reeked of rebellion; Gleswick, a thin slice of a man, was well-tailored as a aristocratic rake and punctuated every syllable with a hint of terror. This curious duo had, for months now, been tasked with eliminating one Marcel Messier - a roving journalist with an unfortunate flair for stumbling upon state secrets. Bends leaned over and fixed me with narrowed eyes, "We have a theory, Miss Labelle." Frowning, I urged him to spill forth the contents of his undoubtedly muddled mind. "It's just that," Bends hesitated, "we think the man may have some psychic powers." I stifled a giggle, but the amused dimple in my cheek betrayed me. Gleswick, with a sigh, reluctantly confirmed the absurd analysis. This, I simply had to hear. Ethereal yet grounded, my voice danced through the enclosing darkness as I inquired, "And what caused you to reach such a conclusion?" Their gazes met, and for a moment, hesitation rested upon their lips. But the thread of truth strung between my inquisition and their elusive tale lured them forward. Gleswick, his voice dripping with derision, recounted strange occasions where Marcel had known facts and figures known only to themselves.
