Rich heiress Caroline Hertig, paralyzed from the waist down after an accident during illegal racing, is driving along the French highway in her specially customized 1965 Chevrolet Impala with hand controls, gifted to her by her father. In the passenger seat is Celeste Mannigan, a secretary missing right arm and left leg. Suddenly the Chevrolet starts making strange noises and slows down significantly.
