USER: Re-write of Regular Show: The Movie After a high school lab experiment goes horribly wrong, and accidentally creating a Timenado, the universe is on the verge of being destroyed and it's up to Mordecai and Rigby to go back in time and make the things right, battle an evil volleyball coach in order to save the universe -- and their friendship. Mr. Ross, who was feuding with Rigby after his antics cost the volleyball team the championship, was forced by Principal Dean to allow Rigby to do an extra credit assignment in order to pass. The extra credit assignment was the time machine Mr. Ross was creating. He was creating it for two reasons: go back in time and win the volleyball state championship and to "get revenge". After successfully convincing past Rigby to create a model volcano instead, the past selves leave the lab, giving the present pair enough time to destroy the time machine. Pops and Benson arrive late to the carnage, all beaten and bruised after their volleyball jock encounter. The group, assuming the work was over, head back to spaceship/time machine only to find the repairs stalled due to an encounter with Muscle Man and High Five Ghost's past selves. Complicating matters further is that temporal ruptures begin appearing just as the repairs are finished. Rigby, who had slipped away earlier, alerts them to the fact that past Mordecai and Rigby are heading to the high school to finish a second time machine Mr. Ross planted. Mr. Ross then forces Rigby to admit the truth by threatening to kill Mordecai: He never got into College U, but Mordecai did and he faked Mordecai's rejection letter in order to maintain their friendship. Past Mordecai: But Rigby was just helping me so we could go to College U together. Mr. Ross: Oh yeah! You don't know! Rigby never got in to College U. (Past Rigby looks ashamed.) Mr. Ross: But you did. Past Mordecai: What? Mordecai: Wait what? Mr. Ross: (Chuckling) Oh, wait. Mordecai, you didn't know that? Mordecai: Rigby, what is he talking about? Rigby: I don't know, he's crazy. Mr. Ross: Oh, am I?! Am I craze-o, Rigby?! Then why don't you read the "acceptance letter" you've been carrying around. Rigby: No! I don't have to! (Mr. Ross pushes Past Rigby aside and he aims a volleyball bomb at Mordecai.) Mr. Ross: Read the letter! Mordecai: Do it, Rigby. Rigby: (sighs sadly as he starts to read his own letter) "From the Admittance Office of College University. Dear, Rigby We regret to inform you that you have not been accepted into this Fall's freshman class at College University." (Realization kicks in for Mordecai, as Rigby looks at him.) Mr. Ross: Keep reading! Rigby: "Though College University is a massive school and it was a record year for how little applications we received, the admissions committee simply could not find any reason to include you in our enrolling class. The deans were obliged to select among candidates who clearly could do the minimum work required at C.U. We hope you can understand our situation, if you can understand this letter at all. (As he reads this, Benson stares at the ground in utter shock and confusion while the Park workers look at each other confused as well.) But rest assured that we did not make this unanimous decision on a whim and as a result, we are not able to consider any appeals to this decision, so don't even try. Though our school motto is 'The College for Everyone', sometimes college isn't for everyone. We thank you for your interest in C.U., but again, to reiterate, we won't be seeing you anytime soon. (While reading this, Future Mordecai gains a look of regret while Past Mordecai looks at Past Rigby.) Or ever. Sincerely, the Admissions Board at College University." Mordecai: (Shocked) You've been lying to me all this time? Mr. Ross: Huh, ouch. (Chuckles) But don't worry. The sting of that lie won't last much longer. Mordecai: What? Mr. Ross: Time for the next phase of my "Get revenge on Rigby" plan. Get rid of his best friend. Set me up, me. Rigby: NO!!! (He hits the volleyball bomb, and as it is about to hit Mordecai, Future Mordecai blocks it and the volleyball bomb hits Future Mordecai in the chest and falls. Mordecai screams from seeing his future self with a hole in him and screams again.) Mr. Ross: Oh, come on! Whatever! As soon as I get back up into space, I'm going to erase all of time and blow up the Earth anyways. (He presses the button, and his portal shows up.) Mr. Ross: Hey, Rigby, remember when you ruined my state championship game? Now we're even. OOOOOAAAAAHHHH! (Goes through the portal but pops his head out.) This is what you losers sound like and nobody likes it! OOOOOOOOOOAAAA!!!!OOOOOOOOOOAAAA!!! (Goes in the portal before it disappears.) Rigby: (In a weak voice) Mordecai? Mordecai: (His tone begins to shift) I can't believe you, Rigby. All this time you were lying to me?! And what, so you forged my rejection letter, is that it?! Rigby: Yeah, but... Mordecai: (Grunts in frustration) Why would you do that!? Rigby: I had to. You would have gone off to college without me. Mordecai: (Annoyed) You don't get it, do you!? Rigby: It was just one lie, I was just trying to- Mordecai: It's always just one thing with you! You don't do that to your best friend! Arrgh!! You're....You're... (frustrated) YOU'RE THE REASON I'M STUCK IN THIS DEAD-END JOB! Rigby: Well, I'm stuck, too! Who better to be stuck with than your friend? Mordecai: (Gives Rigby a disappointed look) You're not my friend. All you've ever done is hold me back. And I'm an idiot for not seeing it until now. (Heartbroken by his friend who is lost forever, Rigby runs away.) Benson: Rigby, no! (Rigby jumps in the van and takes off.) Benson: Wait! Stop! Mordecai: Come on! Future Mordecai: Put me down! Put me down! (groans) It was all a waste, Mordecai. I sold us out. I climbed the evil corporate ladder, I had an evil six-figure salary, and even bought an evil condo in Maui --- right on the beach. Ugh, and for what? No family, no friends. Work isn't everything. It's not worth shooting your best friend over, I'll tell you that. Truth is (Groans) Right now, I'd trade in my life for an afternoon playing video games with my bro. (Coughs) The future is in your hands. (Future Mordecai smiles then he coughs) Ohhhhhh. (Future Mordecai dies.) Mordecai: No! Past Mordecai: Dude, did we just die, dude? Mordecai: Yeah, dude. Past Rigby: Dude, let's get out of here! (Past Mordecai & Past Rigby ran off as Mordecai press the key button to activate Future Mordecai's ship. In the Park, Rigby makes it out of the van in the crater then jumps on the ship.) Benson: Rigby! Stop! (They're too late: Rigby takes off into space and above the timeline.) Meanwhile, after a failed attempt to drive into the sun, Rigby encounters Father Time at a gas station, who is falling apart due to the Timenado and is convinced to apologize to Mordecai. Rigby heads to the future and races back to the Timenado Inside the space station, Rigby made his way through the laser fights that were happening. He made it out, relatively unscathed. But he was really concerned about Mordecai. What he said earlier hurt him and his heart. He remembered when Mordecai said to him; 'You're not my friend. All you've ever done is hold me back. And I'm the idiot for not seeing this until now.' He felt weak from what was said to him, complete with Mordecai disappointed in him. "It's my fault," he said, grieving in pain. "I need to tell him I'm sorry. I just hope I'm not too late!" It didn't take long for Rigby to find Mordecai. He found him next to the temporal crystal. Right next to him was the box of plutonium. Mr. Ross was nowhere to be seen. "Mordecai!" Rigby called out to the blue jay. He ran to where he was. "Dude...I...," "Shut up, Rigby!" Mordecai angrily said to Rigby. "I don't want to hear it!" "Where's Mr Ross?" asked Rigby. "He's no more thanks to destroying his neck collar with Techmo's laser sword," said Mordecai. "I did it without you! I didn't need you and I certainly don't want to see you right now!" "But, Mordecai... I'm..." sniffed Rigby, with tears in his eyes. "What?! You're gonna say I'm sorry?!" Mordecai angrily asked Rigby. "Sorry isn't gonna change what you did, Rigby! You lied to me all these years! You forged my acceptance letter to College U! I was foolish! I shouldn't have believed you before!" "What are you trying to say?" Rigby asked in a quivering voice. "I should have never been friends with you!" yelled Mordecai. "What?" gasped Rigby. "My life would have been better if I never met you at all! "Mordecai angrily said to Rigby. "And to show that we're no longer friends..,"friends...," As he said this, Mordecai's feathered wing turned into a fist. Facing Rigby, he punched him in the stomach. "You're not my friend anymore!" He angrily said to Rigby, glaring down at him. "You're just a random stranger that I don't care about!" Hurt by the punch, Rigby began to rub the wound on his stomach. "Dude...why?" he asked, weakly. "Mordecai, we are friends." He limped his way to where Mordecai was. "Get away from me!" Mordecai angrily said to Rigby. "I said I don't need you!" "Dude...I'm sorry for what I did," Rigby said in a weakened voice. "You don't understand, do you?!" Mordecai angrily asked Rigby. "WE ARE NOT FRIENDS!" Rigby was frightened as he looked at his once best friend who stood there, angry at him. "Sorry isn't always going to work, Rigby!" Mordecai angrily said to Rigby. "You've apologized about a lot of things! But I can't forgive you on this one! All these years you've kept it from me! You have always been a lying and selfish jerk who only cares about himself and not for others!" "I need you to forgive me," sobbed Rigby. "Just let me help you." He reached out his hand as if trying to get Mordecai to shake it. Unfazed by the offer, Mordecai, angrily, grabbed Rigby and threw him into the crystal, electrocuting him! Rigby, completely injured, fell to the ground with a thud. Tears rolled down his eyes. Not only did Mordecai throw him into the crystal, but he really meant what he said about not being friends with him. He saw the hate in Mordecai's eyes. Rigby's eyes were brimming with tears. Mordecai didn't care if his once best friend was crying. And he didn't care if he was in pain right now. Seeing that the box of plutonium was right next to him, Rigby lifted it up. He saw this as his chance to make it up to Mordecai. But he wasn't wearing a protective suit, like the blue jay. The green energy from the plutonium mixed in with the punch from earlier and the electrocution started to weaken the small raccoon. "It hurts!" he said to himself. "But I need to make it up to Mordecai." "This doesn't change anything," said a voice right next to him. Rigby was horrified as he saw Mordecai right next to him, carrying the plutonium box. He was angrily looking at Rigby. It was the face of hate. Rigby couldn't keep his eyes off of the blue jay's face. More tears rolled down Rigby's cheeks, horrified to see Mordecai this angry. He knew he really messed things up and helping him carry the box of plutonium was not going to change Mordecai's mind. "Let's just finish this!" begged Rigby. "I can't stand you being mad at me!" Rigby was becoming weaker and weaker from carrying the plutonium box. But still, Mordecai paid no attention to his begging. He just angrily glared at Rigby. But when the two of them threw the plutonium box inside the crystal, Rigby collapsed to the ground, weakened by the plutonium, Mordecai's punch from earlier and the electrocution. The Timenado flashes and they are sent back to the present, but not at the Park, Instead, they land in the house of a young boy, who has a robot (This rewrite/extension is a crossover with Robotboy), They have a new enemy to faceface.
