Stewie interrupts him, saying that only a dummy would lose their sight from something as stupid as staring at the sun too long. Meg, trying to one-up her brother, decides to try it out for herself. She stares at the sun for an extended period of time, and quickly realizes her mistake as she loses her vision. In a panic, the family rushes Meg to the hospital, where the doctors inform them that the damage to her eyes is irreversible. Meg is devastated, feeling like her life is over before it even began. But things take a turn for the worse when she begins to lose feeling in her arms and legs, followed by her ability to hear and speak. The Griffin family is at a loss for what to do, feeling helpless as they watch Meg struggle to communicate only through facial expressions. Brian suggests they look into experimental surgery that could potentially restore Meg's senses, but the cost is astronomical. Desperate, Peter decides to take matters into his own hands and sets out to find a cheaper alternative. After some digging, Peter discovers a doctor who claims he can perform the surgery for only 1 dollar. Skeptical but hopeful, the family agrees to go through with it, knowing it's their only chance to bring Meg back to normal. The surgery is a success, and to everyone's relief, Meg wakes up with her vision, hearing, speech, and mobility restored. The family is overjoyed to have their daughter back, and they all reflect on the importance of appreciating what they have and not taking anything for granted. Meg, realizing how lucky she is to have her family's support, thanks them for never giving up on her. As the episode comes to a close, the Griffins are gathered around the dinner table once again, this time with Meg fully recovered and grateful for the miracle that brought her back to them. They share a heartwarming moment before Peter inevitably ruins it with a tasteless joke, bringing the family back to their usual antics. Fade to black.
