MIND FLAYER (dark and raspy) You were right to bring me here. The other children, the ones who tried to stop me. They think they've won, but you shall be my key to their downfall. MAX (eerily calm) We will do whatever it takes to help you. We were just waiting for the right moment. LUCAS (sinister) We've seen how you can really control things. Our friends can't stop the future. The Mind Flayer looks down at Max and Lucas, enticed by the newfound allegiance. MIND FLAYER Seek the girl, the one you call Eleven. Once she is under my control, this world shall collapse under my reign. Lucas and Max tug their hands from one another and hold them out to their sides, eyes still void of humanity. As they stand ready, the Mind Flayer stretches its gaping maw and prepares to imbuement them with dark energy. Blackened tendrils extend from the Mind Flayer's wicked form, latching onto the two unsuspecting teenage hosts. Max and Lucas begin to tremble violently, gritting their teeth as the tendrils fill them with the essence of darkness. Their EYES regain their normal appearance, but the shadows of darkness remain, hidden beneath the surface. MAX AND LUCAS (in unison) We understand. We will bring the girl to you. As they finish their sentence and the Mind Flayer quietly retreats, the tendrils slip from their forms. Max and Lucas, now taken by the monster, turn to each other. A look of determination for the malicious plan washes over their faces, and they make their way out of the gym, preparing to aid the Mind Flayer in his conquest of the world.

ANGLE ON MAX AND LUCAS - POSSESSED Their faces have completely changed-Max possesses a sensual, sadistic look in her eyes, and her movements become more seductive. Lucas, in contrast, emits a chilling, violent aura. Their friends remain oblivious. MAX (seductively) Hey, El. You're looking good tonight. ELEVEN (confused) Thanks, Max? Max walks over to Mike, biting her lip, her hand barely grazing his shoulder-sending shivers down his spine. MAX Oh, and Mike. Come find me when the slow dance starts. Mike is left speechless, as Eleven shoots Max a confused and worried look. Doubt begins to creep into her mind about her friends' intentions. LUCAS Guys, have you ever thought about what we could do if we harnessed the powers this town has? WILL (uncomfortable) What are you saying, Lucas? DUSTIN Yeah, you're starting to sound like the bad guys we fight against. LUCAS (smirking) I'm just saying, we could become unbeatable. The camera slowly zooms out, the flickering darkness of the Mind Flayer casting eerie shadows on Max and Lucas as they continue to revel in their deviousness.
