Elbowing past the throngs of calloused minions and discomfited knightly retainers, the bustling market came alive before him. Strong enough to withstand the ice storms of the North and supple enough to cook atop a fire on a devastating winter's night." Peering into the shadowed corners of the market square, the merchant detected flashings of suspicious grimaces that held a certain scent of malice, their owners' eyes and minds calculating as their darkened hearts weighed the benefits of duplicity and deceit.
