King Tiger from Spyral... whew, that man's like a walking, condescending self-help book. My personal favorite line? "You're an idiot, Dick Grayson." I mean, gee, thanks for the pep talk, Tiger. Remind me again why I'm hanging out with super spies who throw shade better than they throw punches? And let's not forget Owlman. Where do I even start? The guy's like the creepy uncle of parallel universes. If 'following in the family footsteps' means gazing at my Earth-1 counterpart like I'm some rare butterfly in his chaotic collection, then yikes. Stalker much? Jason murmurs...and then Steph is treated to one delightful(or whatever) art of Jason and Tim in a very...intimate moment...my god..such anatomical detail...sweaty muscles.....Jason biting Tim's neck...possessively holding Tim and the look of well ...pure pleasure on Tim's face......its only art....but oh my fucking god...as she covers her face and immediately closes her laptop..Slade...brings an odd...sense of...something...Nightwing...symbol of hope and inspiration to heroes everywhere...on the other Earth that......but Nightshade here on their Earth?.....as Cardinal handles the explanations....that Nightshade is well...in the middle....somehow managed to do dialogues..that line of fear and respect in varying measures...from heroes and villains......'unpredictable'........that is.... Dick Grayson, one of the most steadfast heroes I know, taken in by Deathstroke? I just... I can't fathom it. Batman: It is an uncomfortable reality, Red Robin. On this Earth, Slade Wilson got to Grayson first. He molded him into something else, something... craftier. A weapon in his own right. Red Robin: But the gun... That's not Dick's style, at least where I'm from. Cardinal: On your Earth, perhaps. But here, Nightshade walks a delicate line. He's not a villain, but he's not the kind of hero you're used to either. He's made his own rules. Spoiler: It's jarring... to hear that somewhere, Dick Grayson isn't... Well, he isn't our Nightwing. Batman: Indeed. The concept of an alternate Earth where I am the one guiding him is unsettling. You say he embodies hope and inspiration elsewhere? Red Robin: Absolutely. He's Nightwing. A leader, a brother, a friend... not a gun-toting enigma trained by an assassin. Cardinal: And yet, despite his... unconventional upbringing by Slade, Nightshade has earned a certain level of... I suppose you could call it grudging respect. Both sides of the law here are unsure what to make of him. That unpredictability has become his strength. Red Robin: I suppose there's a lesson in there somewhere about the nature of choice and nurture over nature, but it's a bitter pill to swallow. Do you trust him, Batman? Batman: Trust is a strong word. We have an understanding. His methods are not mine, but his results cannot be denied. He's kept the balance of power from tipping too far in any one direction. Spoiler: That must be so isolating for him... To be caught in between like that. Cardinal: Isolation can be a powerful tool for someone like Nightshade. He works in the shadows, much like we do, but he also stands apart from them. In a way, he's become his own category of vigilante. Red Robin (murmuring): An 'elseworld' existence where Dick is the shade, not the light. Fascinating and horrifying in equal measure.
