Why fight it when the night calls so sweetly?" Sorrow sharpens in Father Todd's gaze, his resolve firm. "Because I refuse to abandon those I consider family. You fought alongside Batman, saved countless lives... including mine. I owe you more than this, Dick." A silence stretches between them, heavy and suffocating. Father Todd continues, a tremor in his voice betraying his steadfast demeanor, "I took an oath to rid this world of the supernatural evils that lurk in the darkness. But know this, Richard Grayson, as I stand before you now... aiming this hallowed weapon under your chin... it's not as an executioner, but as a brother seeking to save your soul." Dick's unsettling grin fades, and for a moment, the hero Gotham knew and loved surfaces, his voice barely a whisper, "I'm... I'm sorry, Father. I don't... I don't want to be this... monster."
