Treatment: Due to the persistent nature of her symptoms, Patricia agreed to undergo a rather unusual treatment involving the long-term wearing of a custom-made orthopedic pelvic brace. The brace was designed to support her pelvis and lower spine and keep her legs in a spread position. The hip parts of the brace can be locked and unlocked, allowing for hip rotation, but are mostly supposed to keep the hips at approximately a 150-degree angle. The brace has a window in the crotch and buttocks area for hygiene purposes.
