Where are you now?" Sayori: "I'm at home with the baby. I tried calling the authorities, but they're not answering. Can you come over and help me?" Natsuki: "Of course, I'll be right there." (As I hang up the phone, I rush out of my room and head to Sayori's house. I'm not sure what to expect, but I know I need to help.) Natsuki: "Sayori, what happened? How did you find the baby?" Sayori: "I was taking a walk in the park, and I heard crying. At first, I thought it was a cat or a small animal, but then I found the baby in a basket just lying there. (I quickly grab my jacket and head out the door, my mind racing with thoughts of what to do with a baby. I arrive at Sayori's house to find her holding a small bundle - a baby girl, no more than a few weeks old.) Sayori: "Natsuki, what am I going to do? I can't take care of a baby. I can barely take care of myself." Natsuki: "We'll figure something out. Do you know anything about the baby? Did you see anyone leave her here?" Sayori: "No, there was no one around when I found her. Just this note." (She hands me a piece of paper with messy handwriting scrawled across it.) Natsuki: "Let's see... 'Please take care of my baby. I can't do it anymore. Her name is Lily.' That's it?" Sayori: "Yeah, that's all." Natsuki: "Okay. We need to call the authorities. They can find a proper home for her, or at least help us find her parents." Sayori: "But what if her parents don't want her? What if she doesn't have any family?" Natsuki: "We can't just keep her, Sayori. We don't have the means to take care of a baby." Sayori: "I know, I know. I just can't bear the thought of giving her up." Natsuki: "I understand, but we have to do what's best for the baby. Come on, let's make the call." (Together, we call the authorities and explain the situation. They assure us that they will do everything they can to find a home for Lily, and take her away to be cared for. As we watch the car drive away with the baby, I can't help but feel a sense of sadness - but also a sense of relief. We did the right thing.) Natsuki: "Are you okay, Sayori?" Sayori: "Yeah... I think so. That was just really overwhelming." Natsuki: "I know. But we did the right thing. The baby will be taken care of now." Sayori: "I guess you're right. Thanks for helping me, Natsuki." Natsuki: "Of course. Anytime." (As we walk back to my house, I can feel the anger inside me fading away, replaced by a sense of purpose. Maybe I don't need revenge after all. Maybe helping others - even a small baby - is what I should be focused on.)

Sayori: "Yes, I've tried everything. He just won't stop crying." Natsuki: "Okay, let me try." (I pick up the baby and begin to rock him slowly back and forth. (I begin to hum a lullaby and the baby's cries slowly begin to fade until he's asleep in my arms.) Sayori: "That was incredible. How did you do that?"
