Her enemies from the corporate world get involved in her misfortunes, even managing to get Lettice into a care facility, manned not only by uncaring, callous and utterly cruel nurses, but also creepy futuristic robots. The whole facility seems to be designed solely to fasten its patients' demise, but thankfully, Lettice' friends manage to get her out. When she finally gets better, she becomes a legal crusader against establishment, particularly a medical one. But her efforts clearly aren't enough, being one woman against the whole system. That's when she is contacted by a mysterious and sinister but cool international gentleman thief, who proposes to become his partner in crime, in return offering to help Lettice in her righteous struggle, direct action-style.
