DEVIN The overarching theme of glorification in these narratives is what I'm criticizing. Your attachment to such simplistic-- JACK (interrupting) Simplistic? Buddy, calling Doom "simplistic" is like calling the Mona Lisa a doodle. And what's with calling out arcade shooters? They practically built the floor you're standing on! Elliot, now fully awake, chimes in, looking around nervously as all eyes are on them. ELLIOT Actually, Doom isn't a military shooter. It's more about strategy and... doom. The crowd chuckles at Elliot's unintended pun, breaking the tension slightly. Devin, however, isn't amused. DEVIN Irrespective of its setting, it still contributes to the culture I'm debating here. In contrast, tactical shooters--like Insurgency and Squad--emphasize realism and strategic-- JACK (cutting in) Oh, please! You mean those "walk for hours and then get sniped from nowhere" simulators?
