Mia's face instantly drops as she shakes her head adamantly, "No...I don't like colours. They hurt my eyes." "Mia, your teacher is right. Maybe you could try to make a happy drawing for us, hmm?" But Mia's emotions took her over, and her eyeliner started to smear down her cheeks, marking her tears. She slammed her head on her desk crying, "I want to dress Goth! I want to draw dark and moody things! Why can't I be edgy?" It was in that moment that Izzy, who had been working in the class, noticed the dark-haired girl's distress. "Mia, it's okay. You can be edgy," Izzy said as she took out her pad to communicate with Mia, using her sign language skills. But the young girl continued to cry, and her pronunciation wasn't the best, so her words came out a mess, "Izzy, I wanna dess goth!" Mia's mother soon arrived at the scene, and with Izzy's help, they were able to calm Mia down, and she eventually fell asleep at her desk. As they left, Izzy smiled at her mother, "Don't worry, Mrs. Smith, Mia is just going through a phase. She'll grow out of it eventually." Mia's mother sighed, "I hope so. But until then, I just want her to be happy."
