JOHNSON (awkwardly) Hey, Jane. Can we chat for a moment? JANE (glancing at her father) Sure, Dad. What's up? Mr. Johnson takes a deep breath, trying to find the right words. MR. JOHNSON Well, your mother and I have been thinking about adding another member to our family. Jane raises an eyebrow, curiosity evident on her face. JANE (confused) Another member? We just had Lily a year ago. What do you mean? MR. JOHNSON (sighs) I know, sweetheart. But the thing is, as I've gotten older, my sperm development has been lowering. Your mother and I really wanted to have another biological child, but it might not be possible for us. Jane's face reflects the realization of the situation. JANE (softly) Oh, I see. So what are you planning to do then? Mr. Johnson looks down, his voice filled with hesitation. MR. JOHNSON After discussing it with your mother, we've decided to adopt a child. We want to give another child a loving home and a family.
