Story permutations group this user's prompts into themes based on how similar their wording or meaning is. Click a group to see how the user's prompts evolved: within a selected group, each prompt is shown as a word-level diff against the previous one — green marks text the user added, and red strike-through marks text they removed. This reveals how the user revised, expanded, or pruned their prompts as they iterated. Jump to methodology →

USER: [there would be dialogue in this story:] (When I was still in high school, people would sometimes call me "blind as a bat" - seeing as I was prone to tripping over books almost all the time. But if they called my girlfriend - Emily - "blind as a bat", they'd be right - because she's...well, she's part bat. She relies on her sense of hearing to sense the world around her - as her ears were the same as those on all kinds of bats. She was also great at flying, due to her mastery at echolocation - but because of her bat-like qualities, she's also nocturnal; she's sleepy during the day, but active at night...maybe a bit *too* active. I found that out first-hand when I was still sleeping - and she was standing at my bedside with a loving gaze...well, I couldn't really tell if it was a gaze, seeing as she was blind.)
CHATBOT: Me: "Emily, what are you doing here? It's the middle of the night." Emily: "I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd come spend some time with you. Is that okay?" Me: "Of course it's okay, but maybe next time, just wake me up instead of watching me sleep." Emily: "Sorry, I forget that not everyone can see in the dark like I can. But thank you for accepting me for who I am, bat ears and all." Me: "I love you just the way you are, Emily. Even if you do have a habit of showing up in the middle of the night like a bat out of...well, like a bat." We both chuckle at my attempt at humor, and I reach out to hold her hand, feeling the softness of her skin and the delicate shape of her fingers. She may be different from anyone else I know, but that's what makes her special to me. And I wouldn't trade her bat-like qualities for anything in the world.

Me: *chuckling* "That's...sweet, but a little creepy, don't you think?" Emily: *playfully swatting my arm* "Hey, I can't help it if I'm a night owl...or, well, night bat I guess." Me: *smiling* "I wouldn't have you any other way, my little bat girl." Emily: *leaning in for a kiss* "You know you love it." Me: *leaning in to kiss her back* "I do. I really do."

CHATBOT: Me: *startled* Emily, what are you doing standing there in the dark like that? Emily: *giggling softly* Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to watch you sleep for a bit. Me: *chuckling* You're lucky I love you, otherwise I'd be mad at you for creeping me out like that. Emily: *playfully* Hey, being a bat has its perks. You get to be all mysterious and sneaky. Me: That's true, I guess. But please, don't scare me like that again. Emily: I promise. Now go back to sleep. I'll be here watching over you. Me: *smiling* Thanks, bat-girl. Goodnight. Emily: Goodnight, my love. *flies off to perch nearby*
