They discover that Yevon is using Sin as a tool to control the populace and that the Church has been manipulating the citizens for hundreds of years. Together, Tidus, Yuna, and their allies confront the Church and ultimately defeat Sin. However, they realize that Sin is not the true enemy, and that the Church's belief in Yevon is what is causing the suffering of the people of Spira. With their new understanding of the world, Tidus and the people of Zanarkand help to usher in a new era of peace and understanding between the people of Spira and their newfound neighbors from Zanarkand. The two worlds begin to merge together, creating a future city in Spira that is home to both peoples.
