Franchette is a "professional" gold-digger, having already outlived three husbands. But now she must have made a mistake somewhere. Her latest bridegroom, Miroslav Tausch, at a closer look turns out to be some kind of former (or still operating?) government assassin who, despite being in his 70s, is very physically and mentally fit. As if to make the irony complete, Franchette suffers a suspicious fall, fracturing her spine, confining her to wheelchair. The marriage proceeds as planned. As elderly but healthy husband pushes his young disabled wife, Franchette wonders whether she has become a victim and for what reason.
