CHATBOT: (Scene opens with Jane and Sam browsing through the toy store, Sam's fixations becoming more and more apparent) Sam: (pointing frantically) I want that model train set, and that bundle of flags! Jane: (trying to calm Sam down) Hey, let's see if we can find something within your budget, okay? Sam: (screaming) But I want it all! And look at that SpongeBob plush! I need it! (Jane notices Sam beginning to throw toys and hurt shoppers) Jane: (gently) Hey, let's take a deep breath and try to calm down. We can figure this out. Shopper 1: (whispering to their companion) What's wrong with that girl? Shopper 2: (overhearing) Probably just a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum. (Jane tries to explain Sam's situation to the shoppers, some understanding and sympathetic, others not so much) Shopper 3: (nodding understandingly) Ah, I see. Well, I hope they find something that works for them. Shopper 4: (disapprovingly) Well, they shouldn't be disrupting everyone else's shopping experience like this. (Cashier approaches, seeing Sam's distress) Cashier: Hey there, is everything okay? Jane: (explaining) Oh yeah, Sam just has some fixations and is feeling overwhelmed. Cashier: (nodding understandingly) I see. Let me show you some more model train sets that are within your budget. (Sam continues to scream and throw toys, still fixated on the SpongeBob plush) Sam: (crying) But I want it all! Why can't I have it all? Jane: (gently) Hey, let's take a look at these trains, why don't we? (Cashier shows Sam some model train sets within her budget, but despite his attempts to help, Sam still just wants the SpongeBob plush) Cashier: (understandingly) Well, how about we get you that SpongeBob plush? It's on sale right now. Sam: (sniffling) Okay. (Jane pays for the SpongeBob plush, a few shoppers still giving disapproving looks) Shopper 5: (judgmentally) That's what's wrong with kids these days, no discipline. Shopper 6: (whispering) It's not her fault, she has autism. (As Jane and Sam leave the store, Sam hugging the SpongeBob tightly, Jane reassures her) Jane: (gently) Hey, we got you something you really wanted, didn't we? And we'll come back and get some of those trains another day. Sam: (smiling) Thanks, Jane. You're the best. (Jane and Sam walk off, the SpongeBob plush leading the way, leaving the toy store behind)
CHATBOT: (Scene opens with Sam lying down on her bed, with her new massive SpongeBob plush at her side, smiling and giggling) Jane: (entering the room) Hey, you seem pretty happy. How's SpongeBob treating you? (Sam sits up, holding the plush tightly to her chest) Sam: (beaming) He's the best! I love him so much. I've been playing with him all day! Jane: (smiling) I can see that. Sam: (excitedly) Wanna play with us? Jane: (grinning) Sure, why not? (Sam starts pretending to have a conversation with SpongeBob, with Jane joining in) Sam: (speaking as SpongeBob) Hey, Sam, where do you wanna go today? Jane: (speaking as herself) How about we go to the beach? (Sam giggles, continuing the conversation with SpongeBob) Sam: (speaking as SpongeBob) That sounds like fun! Let's go! (Jane and Sam continue to play, with Sam never letting go of the SpongeBob plush) Jane: (gently) Hey, do you think maybe we should give SpongeBob a break for a little bit? Sam: (hugging the plush tighter) No way! I wanna play with him forever! Jane: (smiling) Okay, just making sure. (Sam continues to play with the SpongeBob plush, Jane sitting next to her, watching) Jane: (smiling) You know, I'm really glad we got that plush for you. Sam: (grinning) Me too! He's the best thing I've ever had! Jane: (grinning) Well, second best, right? (Sam giggles, giving Jane a playful nudge) Sam: (jokingly) Oh yeah, you're pretty cool too. (Jane and Sam continue to play, laughter filling the room)
