Clementine hesitates for a moment before answering. "Just... everything, I guess," she says, her gaze drifting back to the flames. "It's been a lot to take in, you know? This whole situation." Luis nods in understanding. "Yeah, I get that," he says. "But we're here for each other, right?" Clementine looks at him, a soft smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "Yeah," she says. "We are." Luis reaches out tentatively and takes her hand in his, giving it a gentle squeeze. And...if there's a chance for us to be happy, even for a little while...I want to take it." Clementine takes a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. She looks up at Luis, searching his eyes for any sign that he might regret his words. But all she sees is warmth and sincerity, and it gives her the courage to lean in and press her lips to his. For a long moment, they just stay like that, holding each other close and reveling in the warmth of the fire. The world outside might be a scary place, but in this moment, they're safe and happy, and that's enough.
