CHATBOT: "Have you ever heard of hypnosis?" Kelly asks out of nowhere, wiggling her toes in the grass. David chuckles. "Yeah, right. That stuff isn't real." Kelly sits up, giving him a sly smile. "Oh really? I bet I could make you believe it." David raises an eyebrow. "You want to try and hypnotize me?" "Why not? It's worth a shot." Kelly sits up and stretches, placing her hands on Dave's shoulders. "Alright, listen to my voice and just let yourself relax..." She begins to speak in a soothing tone, her voice becoming slower and lower as she suggests that he's feeling more and more relaxed, that every breath he takes is making him feel more and more at ease. David rolls his eyes and tries not to laugh, but soon his eyelids start to droop and his body feels heavy. Kelly grins in amazement. She had only intended to tease David, but somehow she's actually hypnotizing him. "Now," she says, more commandingly, "I want you to repeat after me. I am feeling very relaxed." "I am feeling very relaxed," David says obediently. "My mind is open to suggestion." "My mind is open to suggestion." "From now on, every time I snap my fingers, you will become more and more deeply hypnotized." "From now on, every time you..." And just like that, Kelly snaps her fingers and David's eyes glaze over. He sways a little and sits down heavily on the grass. Kelly bites her lip in excitement. This is incredible. She's hypnotized David, and he's unbelievably suggestible. "David, stand up," she commands. Without hesitation, David rises to his feet. "Now, I want you to do a little dance for me." David begins to wiggle his hips in a wildly exaggerated way, grinning like an idiot. Kelly giggles, immensely pleased with herself. "And now, David," she says, "I want you to remember something. From now on, whenever you see me, you will start to feel more and more relaxed, all over again, just like before." David nods obediently. "And now, when I snap my fingers, you're going to wake up. But you won't remember any of this." Snap. David blinks, looking around in confusion. "What happened?" "Nothing," Kelly tells him with a smile. "We were just chatting. You must have dozed off." David scratches his head. "Weird. I feel a bit funny." "That's just the sun," Kelly assures him. "Let's get some lunch." It starts when, despite neither of them even believing hypnosis is real, he accidentally really does go under when she is just joking around and pretending to do an exaggerated fake induction, laughingly playing along at first but gradually becoming docile and utterly entranced, to her astonishment and glee) David and Kelly are hanging out in the garden of his uncle'sKelly's house, David having come over for a Sunday visit. It's a warm day, David's drinking a beer and Kelly has taken her shoes and socks off and is lying back on a blanket.
CHATBOT: "What do you think about hypnosis?" Kelly asks out of nowhere, sitting up and resting on her elbows. David looks up from his beer, surprised by the sudden question. "Uh, I don't know. I think it's all just showmanship and not real, right?" Kelly grins mischievously. "Oh, I don't know about that," she says, sitting up and leaning toward him. "I've read that some people are really susceptible to hypnosis. Maybe you're one of them." David raises an eyebrow and looks skeptical. "I highly doubt that." Kelly stands up and comes to stand in front of him, smiling down at him. "Oh David, you're always so resistant to new things. Come on, let me show you what it's like." She jokingly holds her hands up to his eyes and starts to say, in a silly voice, "You're getting very sleepy..." but before she can even finish the sentence, David's eyes begin to droop and he starts to sway on the spot. Kelly's eyes widen in surprise as she realizes that she's actually hypnotizing him. She quickly improvises and starts to give him suggestions, making him more and more susceptible to hypnosis in the future. She tells him to obey her every command, to always be open to new experiences and ideas, and to never question her. David's eyes are now closed and his body is limp in her arms. He's completely entranced, like a puppet on a string. Kelly grins in delight, amazed by how easy it was to hypnotize him. She decides to have a little fun with her new zombie-like friend and starts to make him do silly things, like clucking like a chicken, crawling on all fours, and even hopping around on one leg. David obediently complies with her every command, not even realizing what he's doing. After a while, Kelly decides it's time to snap him out of it. She makes a few more suggestions to deepen his trance, then slowly counts him back to consciousness. When David opens his eyes, he looks confused and disoriented. He has no memory of what's just happened. Kelly quickly covers her tracks, telling him that he had a little nap in the sun and she didn't want to disturb him. David shakes his head, trying to clear the fog from his mind. "Yeah, I guess I must have dozed off," he says, looking around the garden. "What time is it?" Kelly glances at her watch.
