A friend of David's, Megan (Stella doesn't know her), comes into the cafe one hot afternoon (sandals weather) and is pleasantly surprised to see David.

Stella gives David the iced coffee to bring to Megan, and as he hands it to her, he accidentally catches her wrist with his fingers. Suddenly, he feels another strange sensation, and he sees a brief flash of Stella's face in his mind. Megan notices David's strange behavior, and she starts to get concerned. She asks him if he's sure he's okay, and David nods, but his eyes seem glazed. Suddenly, Stella calls David's name, and he snaps back to reality. He turns to her, and all traces of confusion are gone. Stella tells David to go on his break, and he leaves the cafe with Megan still staring at him, perplexed. As soon as they are outside, David turns to Megan and says, "I have to tell you something. Stella's been hypnotizing me." Megan's eyes widen in shock, and she asks him to explain. David tells her everything: how Stella has been using hypnosis on him, making him forget everything that happened, and how he accidentally caught a glimpse of her face while handing Megan the coffee. Megan is horrified and tells David he needs to quit working at the cafe immediately. She suggests he report it to the police, but David is hesitant. He doesn't want to cause trouble, and besides, he still feels a pull towards Stella. Megan tries to reason with him, but David refuses to budge. In the end, David continues to work at the cafe, under Stella's hypnotic control, while Megan watches from afar, helpless.

Megan starts to feel more and more relaxed as Stella's voice becomes a soothing hum. Eventually, Stella brings Megan out of her trance and Megan feels rejuvenated and refreshed. She thanks Stella and tells David that he is lucky to work with someone who knows such cool tricks. David just nods, still a bit shaken from his own experience. As Megan leaves the coffee shop, she can't help but wonder what other tricks Stella has up her sleeve. She also makes a mental note to come by again during David's shift, just in case she gets the chance to be hypnotized again.

Stella turns to David and snaps her fingers. David immediately goes into a trance-like state. STELLA (CONT'D): David, I want you to ask your friend if she wants a foot massage. David repeats the order in a monotone voice. DAVID: Megan, would you like a foot massage? Megan looks at David, clearly confused. MEGAN: Uh, no thanks, David. I'm good. Stella snaps her fingers again, and David immediately snaps out of the trance. STELLA: (smiling) Wasn't that cool? MEGAN: (awkwardly) Yeah, um, it was interesting. Stella walks away, and Megan turns to David, concerned. MEGAN: David, was that... hypnotism? DAVID: (looking dazed) I think so. Stella's been practicing on me, I think. MEGAN: That's not cool, David. You should tell her to stop. David nods, looking shaken. DAVID: Yeah, I will. Thanks, Megan. Megan nods back, and the two of them go back to talking, the strange incident forgotten for now.
