Eventually, Nicky agrees, having complete trust in her friends. She hypnotizes Danny and gives her friends a few simple suggestions, making him more susceptible to their commands. The group spends the day having innocent fun, making Danny perform silly stunts and act like a clown. However, things take an unexpected turn when one of the friends suggests that Danny transfer all his savings to her. Nicky immediately intervenes, snapping Danny out of his trance and scolding her friend for crossing a line. From that day on, Nicky decides to be more cautious about who she allows to control her husband's mind, realizing the serious repercussions that come with hypnotic power.
USER: Danny's wife Nicky is a hypnotherapist. She's hypnotized Danny so many times that he willingly and easily sinks deep into a mindless trance whenever she wants. Nicky is chatting with some of her friends Emma and Molly & they try to convince her to put Danny under their control for a day.
CHATBOT: At first, Nicky is hesitant. "I don't know if that's ethical," she says. "I wouldn't want someone to do that to me." But Emma and Molly are insistent. "Oh, come on," Emma says. "It'll be harmless. We could make him do something fun, like go to an amusement park or something." Molly adds, "And he won't remember any of it. It'll just be a fun little prank." Nicky finally gives in, albeit reluctantly. "Okay, fine. But I get to choose what they do." The next day, Nicky hypnotizes Danny and gives Emma and Molly some suggestions for what to make him do. They start off small, having him do silly dances and sing silly songs. But things quickly escalate. They instruct Danny to take off his shirt and run around the park. They make him eat an entire large pizza by himself. They even have him propose to a total stranger. Nicky begins to feel uncomfortable. This isn't what she had agreed to. She tries to intervene, but Emma and Molly just laugh it off and ignore her. Finally, after several hours of humiliating and potentially dangerous suggestions, Nicky decides enough is enough and snaps Danny out of the trance. Danny is disoriented and confused, not understanding what had just happened. Nicky explains everything to him and he's understandably upset. He tells Nicky he doesn't want her to hypnotize him anymore. Nicky feels terrible and apologizes profusely. She realizes that hypnosis is a powerful tool and needs to be treated with care and respect. She vows to never use it for anything other than therapeutic purposes again.
