The truth though, is that they were released in 1977, and with World Wars 1 and 2 and the Korean and Vietnam wars already having passed and various nations improving on warfare and weapons, it should be no surprise that the order had already made the switch to guns long ago and always keep themselves up to date on the latest advancements in weaponry and defense, which the ancient evil entities had little to no preparation against. Really, it's almost laughable for the ancient evil entities.
