[player]: (skeptical) Jungle Myrmex? This is insane. JADE: (proudly) It is also efficient. We work as one for the good of the hive. You are lucky to have been brought here - we will put your skills to use. [player]: Skills? I don't even know what you want from me. JADE: (commanding) You will be a worker, as all new members of the hive are. Come. Jade leads [player] through the throne room and into the hive's sleeping quarters. The room is full of small, cubicle-like chambers dug into the dirt walls. Myrmex Workers and Soldiers sleep in them, curled up like grubs. JADE: (explaining) This is where we rest. You will have your own chamber soon. Until then, stay here and rest. Our feeding time is soon. [player]: (confused) Feeding time? JADE: (calmly) Yes, we eat. Follow me. Jade leads [player] into the dining area. There are large piles of half-eaten insects in the center of the room, surrounded by Myrmex eating and chirping to one another. [player]: (disgusted) I am NOT eating that. JADE: (disappointed) Pity. It is the most nutritious food for us. You will find your own food, then. As a worker, you are free to scavenge for our meals. [player]: (unhappy) Great, just what I always wanted - to be an ant's servant. JADE: (smiling) Do not worry. You will see the beauty of the hive soon enough. Until then, sleep and eat. Our future relies on our strength. Jade and the other Myrmex continue eating, while [player] looks around in disbelief. Fade to black.

[player watches as the Myrmex workers and soldiers feast] Queen Jade: Did you not say that you do not belong to any hive? Perhaps you are interested in joining mine? [player hesitates] Queen Jade: [Smiles] I understand that trust must be built, but know that our hive is a prosperous one. As you can see, my subjects are happy and loyal. You may rest in the guest room until you make a decision. [Queen leads player to the guest room] Queen Jade: Sleep well. And just a warning, do not wander around the hive unannounced. The Soldiers take their duty seriously. I am Queen Jade, ruler of this Jungle Myrmex colony. And you now belong to us. [player]'s eyes widen in alarm. QUEEN JADE: Do not worry, little one. You will be treated well as long as you submit to our ways. You may even prove useful to us. The Queen signals for a Worker to approach. QUEEN JADE: Bring our new larva to the nursery. We must ensure its health and well-being. The Worker scurries forward and picks up [player] carefully, carrying him away to the next room. QUEEN JADE: (to the remaining Workers) As for the rest of you, we have much work to do today. Let us make sure everything in the hive is running smoothly. The Queen rises from her throne, her massive and heavily pregnant form waddling behind her as she leads the procession out of the throne room. Queen Jade, heavily pregnant with her future successor, stretches her legs as she sits on her throne watching her workers scurry around the throne room. Suddenly, a stir in the corner catches her eye. One of her Workers has brought in an unexpected guest. It's a humanoid creature, nearly twice the size of a Myrmex Larva. The creature is still groggy from being dragged in while asleep, and as she sees it, Queen Jade is stunned. She hasn't seen anything like it before. Without wasting a moment, she orders her Royal Guard to surround the creature and demand an explanation. The Worker who brought the creature in tries to explain that he mistook the creature for a larva and thought to carry him to the birthing chamber. Jade looks at the human and recognizes that he is clearly not a Myrmex. Jade then orders the workers to take the human to the guest room and find out what he wants. With that, the Worker scurries away with the human in tow, trying not to injure him in the process. As the morning progresses, Queen Jade meets with her advisors and workers to discuss the human's arrival and make decisions. As the hive's custom, the pregnant queen would name her heir after a precious gemstone and she had chosen "Emerald" for her. The workers excitedly check on the progress of the new queen's birthing chamber and continue to carry out their duties in the hive. The Worker assigned to tend to the human reports back to the queen that he is awake and uninjured. Jade orders him to be brought before her in the throne room for questioning. As [player] stands before her, Jade watches him intently. She speaks slowly, to ensure the human understands her words. "You are in our hive. You are not from here. You will explain where you came from and what you want." The Queen's eyes are fixed on the human, waiting for a response. [player] knows there's no way out of the situation, so he speaks softly and respectfully. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to intrude. I don't know how I got here. I was just sleeping and then I woke up amongst all of you." The queen exchanges glances with her advisors, but the workers look anxious. They have never encountered a creature like this before. Queen Jade orders the human to be taken to the guest room and provided with basic necessities, including food, water, and shelter. As the day wears on, ...

I must find out more about this outsider." [Queen Jade then moves to the birthing chamber where pregnant females are kept and inspects it] Queen Jade: [Looking at her pregnant belly] "Soon, Emerald, you will join us." [A group of Workers enter the chamber] Queen Jade: "Good, you're here. I have a task for you." Worker 1: "What is it, Your Highness?" Queen Jade: "Find out where that outsider came from and bring me any information you can gather about the outside world." [Workers nod and exit the chamber] Queen Jade: [Talking to herself while rubbing her belly] "Once Emerald is born, it will be her duty to lead this hive into the future. And with the information gathered from the outsider, maybe we can make it the strongest hive in the jungle." [The scene fades out with Queen Jade looking pensive]
