"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," he said. "I didn't realize they were your flowers." Lizzie calmed down a bit and looked at the fox. He seemed contrite, and she couldn't help but feel a little guilty for being so aggressive. "It's okay," she said finally. "Just don't pee on my flowers again." The fox nodded, then scurried away into the underbrush. Lizzie watched him go, feeling a sense of satisfaction. She had stood up for herself and her garden, and she had won.
